Since you are dealing with wind, tide and wash, it is, in general, hard to say when it is safe to sail. Big chance we won’t sail at wind-force northwest 6, south 6 would, however, be fine. In other words: variable conditions determine if it is safe to sail. Thanks to our long experience (rescue-party) we know the dangers of the sea. We give sail courses to amongst others beach police and the Department of Waterways and Public Works. We would like to keep up our reputation.
It is up to the skipper to decide if it is safe to sail. His decision is not debatable.
